Draft font styles

Font style (arial black)
This font style is very bold and stands out and most alternative music magazine used a bold font for their mast head or main cover story. So I may use this font for my mast head. This font style is sans serif.

Font Style (Berlin sans FB demi)
This font style is very plain which means it’s a san serif font. This could be a font that is used for cover stories or text inside the magazine for example the contents and article text but not the main cover story. This isn’t as bold as the arial black font but is still quite plain so it doesn’t give off a girly feel like a serif font might.

Font style (Bodoni MT black)
This font could be a suitable choice for the text inside my magazine because it is very clear and easy to read. I could also use this for a standfirst on my main article because it may stand out from the choice of font for my article text.
Font style (Broadway)
This font is a serif font as it is much more italic than some of the other fonts. I would not chose this font for my magazine as it isn’t as easy to read so some people may find it off putting and may not read the magazine because of the type of font.

Font style (Impact)
This font is very bold and would stand out if used as a mast head or cover story font. But the letters are spaced quite close to each other so this may not be a good choice for these as people may not be able to read the cover story so  would be put off and wouldn’t buy the magazine. This font style is a sans serif font.

Font Style (Segoe Script)
This font style is a serif font as it is italic. I wouldn’t chose this a font that I would use because it wouldn’t be suitable for the type of magazine I am going to produce.

Font Style (Microsoft sans serif)
This font style would be suitable for the text inside the magazine for the articles because it is easy to read and quite plain. This is my first choice for the article text because it is the one most suitable. This font style is a sans serif font.

From these fonts I have chosen to use the arial black for my mast head as i think this would stand out the most. I have then chosen the Microsoft sans serif font for my article and contents text. I will also use this for my cover lines but maybe not my main cover story. For my main cover story I will use either the arial black or impact font style as these fonts stand out the most from the other fonts I have analysed.
